My Besaco Bag, and would you like to meet another Blossom?

Over the last 24 hours I have put aside some 'have-to' stitching and made my own version of Dawn's beautiful Baseco Bag that I told you about HERE.
Dawn's original bag is made with the Gobble Gobble range of fabrics and is very bright and bubbly , whereas I went for the softer, romantic feel and used some Aviary...
...and as I had those lovely pink leather handles I chose to use them instead of making fabric handles.
That exquisite mother-of-pearl button was a gift from Jeanette in the Advent Swap last year (and I still have some more to play with - thank you Jeanette!!). It's perfect with these fabrics!
I like to have a little pocket for my mobile phone so I added one inisde - very simple to make with some of the leftover fabric scraps.
And I chose to use my new Cottage Garden hand-dyed threads for the stitchery.
Dawn's bag design is so versatile and pretty, and very functional! It can be a shopping bag, a handbag, a project bag...when you see all the different fabrics and notions some of the other Gum Tree Designers are using you realise you make this bag suit any need.
Check our Among The Gum Trees blog later this week to see what fun we've all been having stitching our Baseco Bags!
Don't forget - the proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to supporting ministry work amongst the poeple of Baseco, who live their lives in squalor and poverty. At only $4 for the pattern download it's a gift to them, and to us who buy one. You can purchase the pattern HERE through Dawn's blog, and read more about Dawn's project.

Did you like the Cottage Garden threads I used on my bag? They are so beautiful! I will be using them a lot more in various designs in the future, which is why I bought a few of the colour range.
I bought mine HERE from Cath, and bless her heart, when the package arrived she'd also popped in a birthday gift for me!
Her hubby is the woodworker, and she is the painter...
You might recognise Cath's unique Raggies? She's quite a clever doll designer and they all have faces that make you smile and want to cuddle them immediately. You can see photos of her Raggies on her blog, HERE.
One of Cath's latest dolls is called 'Blossom', and do you know where her new Blossom doll is living these days? At my house! Cath designed 'Blossom' as a gift for my Blossom.
Blossom and Blossom are very happily sharing a bedroom these days.

Hi Jenny,
Oh, I love that bag. I've only just made my very first bag. I'm not experienced enough yet to do such a job like yourself.

Ah, You are so neat with your corners and stitching. How long have you been sewing? Probably since you were a babe! lol

Ooohhh, I'm off to check out Cath's place and threads.

Blossom is very cute, just like your Blossom.
Hugs,
Anna

Jenny I love your version of Dawn's
new bag. I love it in the pastel shades. I too have two sets of MIO leather handles, one lot in pink and the other lot in lavender. Favourite colour is purple, mauve, lilac etc. etc, so will try out pastel mauve and green shades and use my lavender handles. My Cottage Garden Threads seem to be calling me also. I have had them in my stash for a while, so here goes..........

I certainly enjoyed reading your post today. I've been lagging behind and am just catching upwith my reading. It's interesting how everyone's colors change the bag so much! I like the way it came out with the handles on it, too. ~karen
