9th Friday Show and Tell!

It seems that after a slow start to the August Challenge many of you came up with great Re-invention projects!!
Carla Louise made *another* item from her recycled skirt...
...and she also has a tutorial on her blog for the sling bag she made from the skirt fabric last week! You can find Carla Louise's tutorial HERE.
Janice made this fabulous Backpack from a pair of jeans...
...and Fiona made a Backpack as well!
Fiona also made her grandson a sweet and functional memory quilt. It''s made of all bits and pieces of clothing! Go HERE to see close-up photos on her blog.
Remember last Friday I showed you Susan's photo of an ice-cream container that she was going to make into something? She used the plastic from the container in these gorgeous mug bags!
How clever is that!? Susan has a giveaway for a Mug Bag on her blog HERE at the moment...but now that I've told there is less chance I'll win!
My last Show and Tell this week is from Pat! She used my Little Bird in Tree stitchery to decorate a Gathered Clutch purse (pattern available HERE from Noodleheads). I love it, Pat!

Sooooooooooooo....what is the Challenge for this month??
ZIP-ME-UP- SEPTEMBER!!!
Yes, it's time to play with ZIPS!!!!!
I finally got over my zipper-phobia, and now I want to play more and more with ZIPS!!!
I don't care what you make as long as you add a zipper, or two, or three... ;-)
I love that zips are cheap, colourful, and come in tiny or HUGE sizes.
What do you like about zips? (or what don't you like about them!?)

Now friends, off to dig out your zippers, or head to the haberdashery department and grab a few.
Have a zippedy-doo-dah weekend!
Hugs
Jenny

Hi Jenny! It's amazing what people can do with an idea or a challenge. All the creations are so neat.

Have a fun weekend Sweetie....Tracy :)

Oh... I have a ziiper phopia... especially in bags. With small one I can deal, but other ones scare me off. But I will try during the weekend (if my cats will allow me).
Best wishes

It always amazes me at how creative ladies are. I had a chuckle, if I hadn't finished my backpack last month it still would have suited this month. LOL I'm a bit of a nervous Nellie when it comes to zips, but I have the perfect project to use one this month. Thanks for once again giving me the incentive to get it done.

I think I'll have a go at this as I've been meaning to do some 'zippy' things for Christmas pressies. Rainy weather is also a good incentive to stay in and sew :D.

About the only thing I don't like about zippers (apart from cloth getting stuck in the teeth) is the metal kind when they don't stay up. The plastic teeth seem to work better at not travelling down. When purchasing pants or a skirt I always make sure, before buying, that the zipper stays done up. Just zip it all the way up and then tug both sides.

These are SO lovely - the bag is great and oh those mugbags! Looks like everyone really stepped up to the challenge.
Zippers - ooh - I have a project I'd like to do, and it has a zipper, guess it's time to go shopping for the right size!

Jenny, another week of lovely creative projects! Thanks for posting mine and linking to my FIRST tutorial! I hope many use it because I love that bag. I finished two more projects on the August challenge that I will post to my blog tonight! Now it is on to the zipper challenge! I know exactly what I will make! I am very excited! I love that mug bag! Sew colorful and useful!!! I will have to stitch up some of those!
