Daring Dresdens...

I asked you yesterday what block beginning with 'D' I would use these stitcheries in...
Nobody guessed it, so I'd better show you!
First, I cut the stitchery out in a circle, then I stitched red gingham bias around the outside...
 I made 20, 4" Dresden fans from some delicious Denyse Schmidt fabric, and stitch them onto more DS fabric...
Then I tacked my 'family' stitchery onto the centre of the Dresden...
Love it.
Just three more to go.
One more block the same, and two different.
Maybe after the weekend I'll be finished and can do the final reveal. ;-)
~~~~~
Do you remember a couple of months ago when I was quite privileged to stitch one of the blocks for Rosalie's newest quilt design?
With Rosalie's own fingers sewing non-stop on the blocks (there are 14 gorgeous blocks!), she also gave some blocks to Fee and Dawn to stitch.
Next came the piecing of those tiny one inch square borders around the blocks, and VOILA!
~Scandinavian Rose~ by Rosalie Quinlan
Rosalie has a giveaway on her blog right now for a full set of the BOM patterns, pre-printed on linen!
Now, I would REALLY love to win them myself, but I am feeling generous of heart today so I'm letting you in on the chance to win too.
Visit Rosalie's blog HERE to enter.
Information for purchasing the BOM can be found there as well.
Back to my stitching. It's going to rain all weekend, so lots of stitching I imagine.
What are YOU stitching at the moment??
Hugs
Wow, that looks fantastic and what a good idea with that bias around the circle, it looks so nice! Aha it was Dresden that you meant, well never used them, but maybe in the near future! Here rain and sunshine all weekend, so we will be inside too! Have a good weekend, hugs
I love the dresden idea. Dresdens are one of my favourite things to sew, but I would never have thought of putting something special in th emiddle like this.
Your dresden plate looks lovely with the stitchery in the middle. Rosalie's new design is beautiful. How great you were able to help her out with the stitching. Hugs....
WOW,Jenny. I love those Dresden Plate blocks! That is my favorite pattern, but I have never thought to put something in the center of the circle. After seeing yours, I can think of so many things that could be put in there.It is a great place to do applique or embroidery and I love to do both so I think I need to start on a quilt.Thanks so much for showing this to us.Have a great day!
I love Dresdens. They remind me of my Grandpa who was a quilter and that was HIS pattern! Love it!
I'm almost finished with block 2 of Promises & Borders! Just a tad behind.
