A day up the mountain with Blossom...

In the middle of my busy week with Mr E away, I took time out for a morning up the mountain with Blossom.
It's been a while since we were last up there together, but it never fails to rest and refresh us!
The familiar old verandah greets us like old friends come a'calling...

We always sit in the same old room, just off the verandah....

...with the lovely chipped table full of it's own history, and we spread out our notepads, pens and pencils.

We usually order the same breakfast every visit!
Blossom enjoys her baked beans and hash browns whilst I love the bacon, egg and bbq sauce toastie...

It always tastes like 'home'...

The breeze through the windows is only matched by the views...

"Our" room is the one on the far right...

...and there is Blossom peeking through the shutters around the other side!

We love poking around all the old rooms with their bits and pieces on display...

Before we head home we indulge in some home-baked apple pie and cream...

Too soon our hours have passed and it's time to leave.

Back down the mountain we drive...

What a beautiful day spent with my girl.

 hugs

There is a great comfort in familiar things, it so nice that you have a place for sharing.

The terrain reminds me of much of my beloved Sonora Desert. I love the place, it seems uniquely Australian. If I ever come to visit, I would like to spend a day there with some stitchery!

Love coming along when you visit your favourite little place. I bet those sketchpads didn't come home blank. That pie looks delish :-)

Isn't it lovely to be so close to your daughter? I never had that closeness with my mother but I have 2 daughters that I am close to. You don't get to see Blossom as much now so I am sure every visit is special.
