Because yesterday's part of this 5-day tutorial had a lot of work involved and you may still be in the process of getting those sections completed, I've decided to give you a very easy step today!
Cut a 3" x 4" piece of fabric...
Fold it in half to measure 3" x 2".
Sew two small 1/4" seams along each end of the raw edge, leaving a 1 1/4" opening in the middle...
Press the seam open and fold the pincushion so that the seam lies along the middle...
Sew both ends closed with 1/4" seams.
Trim the side seams by half...
Turn the pincushion right side out, gently pushing out the corners...
Fill with polyester toy stuffing.
Don't overfill the pincushion as you need it to have a little softness for the final steps tomorrow.
Blind stitch the opening closed.
Put it aside until we complete the final steps of making this Hussif because we're on the home straight now, my friends!
Tomorrow is the last day, and we shall be adding those last pretty touches plus sewing on our binding.
Just out of curiosity, are you making this for yourself or as a gift?
Day 5 of the Hussif Tutorial is HERE.
Day 5 of the Hussif Tutorial is HERE.
I haven't had a chance to start yet but will eventually get to it. I can't wait to make this. I love the new Christmas stitcheries. They are beautiful, Jenny. xx
If I wasn't married I think I would have to marry Snow Pear Man!!
Loving this tutorial, Jenny, thank you. I'm making this one for myself, but have a friend who would also love this pretty hussif, so I just might have to make another. As usual, great instructions, very clear, and lovely photos.
I'm following along every day with the best intentions to drag all my Lecien fabric out and have fun!! I would love one for me but I also think they would make lovely Christmas gifts for my friends. Maybe I had better get busy :) Thankyou for sharing this lovely tutorial Jenny xx
I have a long way to go. The first one will probably be for me, because it will have all the mistakes. =)
Hello Jenny! Thank you so much for the beautiful tutorial... I think I am going to make two... one for myself and one to send to a blogger friend in a swap! I will be making them both at the weekend as I have the house to myself (for a change!) :) x
Oh my....another fantastic tutorial Jenny! And your stitcheries are so pretty!
Oh! This one has to be for me! I usually give everything away that I make but this is just too beautiful for me to give away! Your instructions are great as always. I love your Christmas things also.
Hello Jenny, thank you so much for your wonderful and beautiful hussif. The tutorial is A1 and very precise. I intend making 2, one for myself and one for a friend. I look forward to starting this project. Take care and have a great restful week end Shirley N.Z.
Thanks so much for sharing this delightful tutorial Jenny. I hope to make one in the very near future. It looks so very pretty as well as useful.
Hello Jenny, It is 11:30 PM here in Southern Oregon. LOL. I have had a very busy day today and last night. I did manage to get Day 1 cut out and partially sewn together, but I do not like one of the steps that I chose. So, decided to let it set and see if it grew on me while I was trimming about 300 HST for a mystery quilt that I signed up for. They were already on step 5 when I signed up, but it is just a once a month post. Really enjoying doing a mystery and your pattern while I am cutting out the pieces for a quilt as you go Double Wedding Ring quilt. On top of all of the other chores and such, I am just taking it day by day and not stressing. But, it got over 100 here today and it is not supposed to drop any for over a week. Here in the mountains, we just are not used to this extreme heat. So, I will have plenty of time inside to work on all of my projects. Oh goodness, I guess I am sleep deprived...sorry for jabbering. Love your pattern and tutorial. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful creative day!
Just wanted to say thank you for great tutorials, I have had so much fun making my Hussif, I can not wait to get home to complete my Hussif this evening.
