I'm still on my little retreat from blogging etc, though I do plan to share another book study post next week...but for the next few days I shall continue to let peace surround my heart so that I can more clearly discern the Lord's directions for my next big project.
I've called this block "Potted Herbs" because I truly have many pots of different herbs around the place and they bring me joy. Just being able to snip some chives for scrambled eggs, tear off a handful of basil leaves for the pasta sauce or cut slim stems of thyme for roast chicken, right from my own yard, brings immense satisfaction.
As I was thinking about my herbs today and the various ways they can be used I even surprised myself at how many aromatics grow in and around the home.
Parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, chives, pineapple sage, oregano, lemongrass, dill, coriander, basil, spicy basil and mint - so far. There's many more on my list but for now this assortment is wonderful because a fresh herb or two can make the simplest meal quite delicious.
The full pattern for My Scrappy Vintage Kitchen can be found HERE in my Etsy Shop
Until next week, be sure to count your blessings because like my herbs they'll add something special to your day.
hugs

Beautiful block! I also love growing herbs. Some are wonderful in pots, others do great mixed within a flower garden or vegetable garden, where they can do double duty by keeping away pests. I've missed hearing from you but you are still in my prayers, dear friend.
thank you Jenny - it's so pretty. I love my herbs however we planted new ones the other day and they were munched on by possums that night.
Thank You for the block Jenny - I have been printing them all off & plan to make this brighter version of My Vintage Kitchen. I hope this rest is bringing you peace & restfulness dear friend. We all need to take the time to nurture & revitalise ourselves in this busy world. Take all the time you need dear girl Xxxx
So pretty. Hope you are feeling rested and well.
Thank you so much for doing this! I've been enjoying embroidering each block as you present it and I'm excited to get this one done! I've only done the embroidery on each block so far as I want to have all the pieces done before I decide on which fabrics to use for the borders. Thank you again for sharing your talents and time with us!
Thank you for another lovely block. Continuing to hold you in prayer as you discern God's will for you.
Thank you Jenny. You are in my thoughts. xx
Thank you so much, Jenny. I love herbs too, especially pineapple sage and lemon basil. You have a lot more than I do, but it is lovely to pick them and use them fresh. I usually have so much that I dry some and share with friends, too. This is a wonderful pattern for the kitchen! I wish I had a wide windowsill on the kitchen window to set little pots, but it's only about 2" wide. Boohoo! Enjoy your peace and prayer and inspiration during your time out.
In case you were wondering, comments 8 and 9 say, in Arabic, "Company sewerage Jubail, Jubail Water Leak Detection Company, Suction Biyarat Company in Jubail, Transport company in Jubail" (9) and "Ideal Cleaning Company in Jubail and Ideal Cleaning Company Qatif". Hackers or bots, in other words, if you want to delete them.
Thank you for this wonderful block. I love herbs....Love all the smells and tastes. I used to grow lots of herbs years ago but when we moved here I couldn't bring them. I currently only have garlic chives, rosemary, mint, chocolate mint and sage and I just got a lemon balm plant 2 weeks ago. I love herbs for tea.....Can;t wait to acquire more for my garden and yards. Thank you for your generous talents you share so freely. How all the rest is paying off...And I hope Blossom and the girls are doing well. That her health has improved. Sending love over the miles my friend.
Jenny Thanks,I too grow herbs but not as many as you!!😊
