I'm a day early with the final two blocks and quilt assembly pattern but as I never know from one day to the next now whether I'll be awoken with a phone call in the middle of the night from Blossom to say "I'm in labour, come now to watch the girls" I thought it best to share it now while all is quiet on baby watch.
This last section of Joy to the World has three blocks but two of them are identical Friendship Stars...
They are positioned in the bottom left corner and top right corner.
I love these little pieced blocks and they were just right to be included in the quilt because my mind kept thinking of that old hymn...
"What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear; what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer."
Do you remember this hymn? So many beautiful verses and if you'd like to read or sing the rest you'll find the lyrics HERE. I can't get it out of my mind now and that's rather lovely.
The final block is the name of the quilt, the exaltation of our hearts when we rejoice together on Christmas morn as we remember and give thanks for the gift so precious of God's Son to the world.
This block sits in the centre of the quilt and the full assembly instructions are included with the the Friendship Star and Joy to the World blocks.

I hope you've enjoyed the free stitch-along this month? I know it's been a blessing to me personally because it's drawn my heart and mind over and over to the wonder of this celebration, even though Jesus was not born on December 25.
May the time spent stitching His story with needle and thread bring you an abundance of joy, peace, hope and love...
PS: If no baby arrives overnight I'll do my garden update blog tomorrow.
That is one of my favourite hymns.
Praying for Blossom and the baby. I live that hymn...”Oh what peace we often forfeit, or what needless pain we bare, All because we do not carry..,,,”
Hola Jenny!
Thank you Dear Jenny.
I was raised on this hymn. You are such an inspiration to having Faith in the Lord for EVERYTHING. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much, Jenny!
That hymn has a special meaning for me. When I was just a kid, it became my favorite hymn, so much so that I wanted to learn to play it on my saxophone. One day when I was in my bedroom practicing it on my sax, there a was a knock on my bedroom door. It was my father. He told me that he heard me playing it and was so happy because it was his favorite hymn.
Fast forward to 1998, my father passed away. Standing in church at his funeral, that hymn began playing. That had me sobbing. After the funeral I told my mother I was glad she chose his favorite hymn for the service. To her surprise, she did not know it was his favorite. She just felt compelled to choose that one.
Thank you for another lovely and sweet project. We still sing What a Friend We Have in Jesus quite frequently at our little country United Methodist Church. Will keep Blossom and Baby covered in prayers for safe delivery and good health afterwards. Blessings from West Virginia, USA.
Lovely finish Jenny - and a beautiful hymn. xx
Thank you. I pray that Blossom's labor goes well.
Ive completed all of the blocks and will assemble today. I got to share the story of Jesus’ birth with my granddaughter (2yrs) in pictures and look forward to sharing many more times as our family grows. What a precious way to share Jesus with everyone. Thank you for ALL you do in Christ’s name. You bless me everytimei get an email from you. May God bless and keep you and may Blossom have a easy delivery very soon. Bless you for your faithfulness. Linda/Texas
Thank you for the beautiful pattern, Jenny. I have it all printed out. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to work on it. It's in my Elfantz pattern binder along with many of your other patterns I have saved over the years.
Prayers for Blossom and the new baby. Give her my love.
Remembering you all in my prayers especially Blossom & her son.
Thank you so much for the beautiful little quilt! Will be praying that Blossom has a quick, easy delivery and that baby will soon be in her arms and healthy.
