...the three mini projects I've made for February's Stitchery Club.
This year with skyrocketing postage costs I made the decision to only post gifts to friends if I could fit them in a card and post as a letter.
In the past I never thought about the size or weight of my gifts sent to far away friends but with most of my children and grandchildren living in other states our pennies need to be saved for them, for their special occasion presents delightedly posted throughout the year.
But having said that, I still want to make and send lovely card size gifts to those women-folk who make my life so very special by being a sister of my heart. After all, it's not the size of the gift, but the size of the heart who makes and sends it.
I've used small 'motifs' from larger and more detailed designs inside the February issue for embellishments on a bookmark, a hanging lavender sachet, and a gift card which could have a small pair of earrings attached or a length of vintage lace or ribbon wound around it....
There's the addition of small scraps of 100 year old lace, pearl beads and a Swarovski crystal from my supplies for that extra touch of loveliness.
I'd forgotten about all the little bits and pieces hidden away in my sewing room drawers, so as I went searching for pretties and bling I thought I must put all of them in one spot and spend time each month making a few gifts in advance.
Even the fabrics were scrap pieces stored in a small tub of tiny cuts I'd hoped to find a use for one day, and here it was, come to pass.
The patterns for these small projects are HERE inside the Club issue for February.
Membership is still open, but will close on midnight of the 16th.
Now all I need to do is learn to make my own cards...mmm...maybe another year.
Bless you!
