Now that my working life has moved full-time to my home, I thought it a good idea to spring clean as many rooms today as I could.
Mr E doesn't like me doing this on my own, but as he was out on a ride today with a fellow Honda Blackbird owner (that's his everyday bike for work) I thought I'd make the most of my alone time in the house.
I strapped my knee firmly and did not do anything that required weight or twisting - but I still managed to get the view freshened a bit.
Last week's roses had wilted so I filled a crystal bowl with the fragrant petals as the finishing touch.
Mr E had still not returned by this time so I took to my creative space with gusto. Tomorrow my dear friend Wendy is driving over from Ayr for a sewing day together, so giving the room a declutter and making it knee friendly for both of us (she has just had a knee replacement) was a priority.
I recently bought some more pretty boxes for storing vintage laces and precious satin and silk fabrics. Love those vintage pretties!
Did you notice this design on the wall?
It's my 2nd design in the "Affirmations" series, and will be in Issue 2 of Elefantz HOME. I'm doing a tutorial with it and decided I'd remake it with different fabrics and trims because I love to show you a variety of ways to make my designs. This time I'll use some left over Robyn Pandolph...delicious!
Also in Issue 2 will be this beautiful design, inspired by my love of the Beatles song from the 60/70's, and also my delight in all fabrics pink, and rosey.
The first 70's design I showed was made into a cushion, but this one is for hanging on your wall - mine makes me so happy when I see it! Of course you could make this into a pillow or a quilt centre...your own imagination will guide you.
Either way, both the 70's designs (as well as 'My World is Beautiful' shown above) will be in the coming issue of Elefantz HOME on July 29th, and they will also be available as separate pattern purchases in my Etsy Shop that day for non-subscribers.
If you'd like to subscribe to Elefantz HOME just hop over HERE and it's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

What a lovely sewing space you have. Enjoy your sewing day with your friend. Caroline
How bright and cheerful your sewing area is...I'm so jealous. Just catching up and see you're having knee probs. Keeping you in my prayers for that. It will take some time, but you're wise to eliminating as much stress on it as possible. Hope it gets better each day, Dear. HUgs....Karen
I loved seeing your "freshening." I suspect that since your knee is bothering you so much you are nesting - a God-given urge (I believe) when we are feeling a bit off. :) blessings, marlene
Your projects are wonderful Jenny - especially the "LOVE" applique/stitching! Can I mention though that "All You Need Is Love" was written and sang by the Beatles. Did S&G sing it too?
You have a beautiful home Jenny, and I am so looking forward to stitching your cushions for Rosie's new flat - what a great idea for a theme. Helen x
A nice, light, happy space for sewing. Your home looks welcoming and comfortable, Jenny.
I love your home. The white boards inside are just up my alley!
I agree with Fee....I just want to catch a flight & drop in.
A playday is the perfect thing!! Hope you have good time together.
By the way...it is 94 degrees in the shade here today.
Jenny your house is just so inviting and has that lovely calm feel to it. Now as for Wendy coming up today you too have a great time as i no you both will i wish like Fee and the others that we all could drop by for a cuppa and a chat. So you and Wendy do all the chatting and would love to see what you both get up to.
Big Hugs to you and Wendy for today.
Hugs
Narelle
